Last September, I visited Japan. It was my first independent trip with self-planned itinerary. Visiting Japan has always been one of my bucket list because I used to love their Pop Culture and Anime. But as adulthood start creeping on me, I started to outgrew it and lose touch with the latest updates. Even so, I still remember how joyful it was, to be immersed in Japanese Anime.
It may be two-dimensional moving pictures but the creators are able to inject relatable stories, making it more alive. I am a fan of Studio Ghibli. Their movies never failed to make me laugh or cry. In order to relive those enjoyable memories, I decided to visit their museum the day after I reached Tokyo. It was amazing! Their special exhibition at the moment was Delicious! Animating Memorable Meals. They actually showed drawings of the meals in every Studio Ghibli’s movies. They even created life-sized plastic replica of the food and even Satsuki and Mei’s kitchen!
As pictures and videography are not allowed inside, I could not show you how magical the experience is. Studio Ghibli is like Disney to me. It will always be special to me. If you intend to visit, do book your tickets in advance if you’re from overseas. Tickets run out really fast.
